Commission denies Stony Hill Road extension request

Hampden Conservation Commission denies Stony Hill Road wetlands extension over inaction. Members found no construction has occurred on the Stony Hill Road parcel since its order of conditions was issued July 17, 2024, and cited state regulation 310 CMR 10.05 in voting unanimously to deny an extension request, though the underlying permit runs until July 2027. The commission separately signed a certificate of compliance closing out the Scantic Valley Water System Improvement Project after representative Jess Watson reported the site was "generally restored in accordance with the order of conditions." Resident Jonathan, awaiting the town assessor's written confirmation on a Chapter 61A farm tax exemption requiring at least $500 in revenue, also asked to join the commission, calling himself "a wicked outdoorsman." Members tabled his application until October.
